Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PlainAudit (plainaudit.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.

Description of Service

PlainAudit provides free online compliance gap assessment tools, readiness quizzes, and template resources for regulatory frameworks including SOC 2, CMMC, and ISO 27001. Our tools use publicly available framework requirements to generate gap analyses and readiness reports.

Important Disclaimers

  • Not compliance advice. Gap assessments, readiness scores, and recommendations provided by PlainAudit are for informational and planning purposes only. They are based on publicly available framework requirements and general best practices. They do not constitute compliance, legal, or professional advice. Consult qualified auditors, assessors, or legal counsel before making compliance decisions.
  • Not legal advice. Information about regulatory requirements, certification processes, and compliance obligations is educational. Requirements change over time and may vary by jurisdiction, industry, or organization size. Consult qualified legal counsel for guidance specific to your situation.
  • Not a substitute for professional auditors. Self-assessments and readiness tools are preliminary planning instruments. They do not replace formal audits, C3PAO assessments, or certification body reviews. Actual audit outcomes depend on factors beyond the scope of any self-assessment tool.
  • Assessments are not guarantees. Readiness scores and gap analyses are estimates based on your self-reported inputs. Actual compliance posture depends on implementation quality, evidence documentation, and auditor interpretation. A passing score on a PlainAudit assessment does not guarantee certification or attestation.

Framework requirements are updated periodically but may not reflect the most recent changes in regulatory standards or certification criteria.
